Is it wrong that I want to cover my predominantly white cat in purple Kool-aid? In effect turning him into a huge purple cat? Or….maybe….blue. Green, green would be good. Nah, purple. Purple would be best. It would match his big blue eyes and make him look even more girlish.
I colored him yellow once, well, just his nose. I was doing home work, highlighting some notes when he bumped my hand. So, without really thinking about it, I colored his nose with the highlighter. He thought it was great….I colored more….he purred louder…..did I mention my cat isn’t really that bright?
Loki, my poor dumb cat, is a Ragdoll. I’m not talking about Raggedy Ann and Andy here. I’m talking about over-sized, over-fluffy, over-lovey, big blued eyed cats. They’re a unique breed. I just happen to have one of the breed who is dumber than a box of rocks…and that’s on a good day.
Loki runs away from cars. Generally that would be considered a good trait but… not when the cars are outside and he’s inside. I don’t dare let the poor critter outside, knowing him he’d run INTO the cars instead of away from them. I can’t seem to convince him that he’s safe behind a yard, walls, and furniture while the cars are out on the street 30 feet away. It’s like trying to convince him that just because there is cat food in the dish, does not mean he has to eat it all in one sitting.
I love my stupid, overly fluffy, Ragdoll cat. The main reason? Most cats are persnickity. They want attention when THEY want attention, not when you want to give them attention. Loki, … well, Loki wants to pay attention to you…all the time!
He is a love bug of a cat. The second you get home he has to touch you to make sure you’re real. Then, he never wants to be without you, and will follow you from room to room to room to … every where. He always asks how your day went. He’s always interested in everything you’re doing. Whether you want him to be interested or not.
He’s always willing to lend you his shoulder to cry on, or cuddle up with you when you’ve had a bad day. Considering his fur is like silk…he’s not a bad cuddle buddy. And he adores people! The first comment everyone makes is, “boy, he’s a lovey cat.” If they only knew he’s unable to sit idly by without at least having a paw on you. He always has to touch….always.
Attempting to do dishes with my love bug of a Loki is a talent one must posses. He is not the type of cat to wind in and out of your legs, no, he simply lays on your feet. Thanks to the love bug, my once brown carpet is now predominantly white….until shaved.
There are many things I could say about my heroic furry feline friend but, I’d rather let him do all the talking.
So for tonight, I wish you furry friends who know when you need them, love unconditional, and the knowledge that cats really do smile and understand every word that you say. Hope, Peace, and Love can be found in so many places, furry friends is just one.
Goodnight my friends!
